Opening Prompt
Tell me what you learned about God this week?
Let me share with you what I learned about God this week…
Focus: Our bodies belong to God, and we honor Him by how we use them.
Read this Scripture with your family:
“Flee from sexual immorality… Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
1 Corinthians 6:18–20
Talk about this devotional thought:
The Bible teaches us that our bodies are not an accident—they are a gift from God. Paul reminds us that God cares deeply about how we use them because His Holy Spirit lives within us.
To help understand this, think about something valuable that belongs to your family—maybe a house, a car, or a special gift. You take care of it, protect it, and use it wisely because it matters.
In an even greater way, God says our bodies matter to Him. That means:
Because Jesus gave His life for us, we want our lives—including our bodies—to reflect gratitude and worship.
Questions to Ask
(Tip for parents: Let kids answer freely. There’s no rush to correct everything. The goal is conversation, not perfection.)
Prayer
Pray this simple prayer together:
“God, thank You for creating us and giving us our bodies. Help us use our hands, feet, words, and thoughts in ways that honor You. We want our lives to worship You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Monthly Memory Verse
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
