About
the Men's Conference

Life in a world like ours encourages compromise. Satan tempts us to give up the fight, give ground to sin, and give in to temptation. God has a different call for Christian men. God calls us to Stand Firm. In the Bible, God commands Christians 17 times to stand firm!

Stand firm. Hold the line. Don’t give an inch. How would your life be different if in all the places you were giving in, you decided to stand firm?

How would your life be different if you decided to stand firm in all the places you were giving in?

Join us for the 2024 Carolina Men’s Conference as we learn to Stand Firm!

Pastor Brad Atkins had been the Senior Pastor of Lake Bowen Baptist Church in Inman, SC since 2017.  He and his wife Hayley have a daughter, Annie Laurie (26), and a son, Will (23). Brad’s passion is to see those that are lost to be saved through an encounter with Christ & to see Christians being sent out as Christ Followers.

My life in ministry has now spanned over 30 years. In that time, I’ve served in youth ministry and as a senior pastor. I’ve also had the opportunity to do missions around the world. I have served on committees on the associational, state, and national level of the Southern Baptist Convention and as president of the Georgia Baptist Convention (08-09). After several years of full time evangelism, God gave me the incredible opportunity to also serve as campus pastor for Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, Georgia. He then surprised me again by putting me back in pastoral ministry as well. BKM has continued to adjust and thrive throughout these changes.

While born in Dothan, AL, Wayne Bray spent most of his life in Georgia, where his dad pastored churches for 40 years. Wayne, and his wife of 27 years, Amy, have 5 children between the ages of 13 and 25.

Wayne and Amy spent the first 15 years of marriage attending college and seminary, earning 8 degrees collectively. That season ended when Wayne completed his Doctorate in Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010.

For the first 20 years of ministry, Dr. Bray served small to medium-sized churches, both rural and suburban, in Georgia and Louisiana. Then in 2015, God brought the Brays to First Baptist Simpsonville. God has richly blessed the church over the years, but they have experienced much recent growth. First Baptist Simpsonville / Upstate Church now has 7,000 members who gather in 15 distinct worship services across 6 different campuses.

Dr. Bray has authored several books, including Inside Out: Christian Hope in a World of Contradiction – Rainer Publishing (2019). In addition to serving as Lead Pastor at FBS/UC, Wayne enjoys teaching as Adjunct Faculty at Anderson University, and recently served as the President of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
